Quick sharing

I am busy writing my reports now. But I would just like to take a little time to share this post from my close friend. Thanks so much for writing the post yeah!

I love the messages in the post:

People will notice the change in your attitude towards them but won't notice their behaviour that made you change.

很在意你的缺点的人,你不要放在心上。因为愿意包容你的所有的人不会在意你的缺点。
Do check out my friend's post here (chinese + english version combined lol) :

Just a quick share, bye...

A song for introverts

Lyrics video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnI2cmxahdc
Invisible ~ Hunter Hayes ~ Lyrics

Official music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiUqgL5urWc
Hunter Hayes - "Invisible" [Official Music Video]

Here is the lyrics to the song
"Crowded hallways are the loneliest places
For outcasts and rebels
Or anyone who just dares to be different
And you've been trying for so long
To find out where your place is
But in their narrow minds
There's no room for anyone who dares to do something different
Oh, but listen for a minute

Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
Oh, invisible

So your confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness
But you don't have to fight it
'Cause you're strong enough to win without a war
Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it
Yeah, I promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more

Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Yeah, the words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more of this life than what you're feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible

These labels that they give you
just 'cause they don't understand
If you look past this moment
You'll see you've got a friend
Waving a flag for who you are
And all you're gonna do
Yeah, so here's to you
And here's to anyone who's ever felt invisible

Yeah, and you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
It''' be invisible"

This is one of best song recommendations from my friend to me and I like those lyrics especially in underlined, they meant so much to me. =)
I couldn't thank this friend of mine enough to suggest me this song when I am in one of my darkest days and I need some strength to carry on with life.
It touched me on so many levels to hear the lyrics of this song.
And it helped me to get through some pain and sadness that is kinda unavoidable sometimes dealing with different people and scenarios in life.
Hope this song can ease some hardship/difficult times of life.
Stay strong alright. <3

Get your gorgeous skin back

I am very interested in skincare even though some people judge males that are into this as they think it is feminine. However, I think having healthy and clear skin is actually quite important in terms of appearance and shows that you are taking good care of yourself. It also helps you to look young and not age that rapidly. And people might not be able to guess your age when you get older!
You can be 50, but others may still thought that you are in your late 30s. haha
Who doesn't like to look young? =D

I tried using home remedies for face for 1-2 years, as I like things that are natural. And I have tried using basically everything that is edible like carrots, turmeric, tomatoes, avocados, eggyolk, yoghurt, cucumber, honey, oatmeal on my face. I am not sure is it just me, I notice very subtle difference after using them for some time despite many people claiming that home remedies help their face tremendously.

What I have come to notice is that no matter how you cleanse, tone and moisturize your face, it doesn't help much if a few stuffs are not being well taken care of.
To improve skin complexion, it is not that complicated, just simple things like diet, exercise, sufficient hours of sleep everyday as well as having adequate hydration can bring a huge difference to your face complexion in matter of months.

What I do to get a glowing complexion:

Cleanse, tone, moisturize
Cleanse twice per day using gentle cleanser, tone and moisturize.
Shower twice per day.
Exfoliate once or twice per week.

Diet (Food/Drinks)
Eating almonds, oatmeal, nuts, seeds & other antioxidant-rich foods
No salty foods/junk food/fast foods. When I eat fast foods, my face tend to be oily the next day.
Drinking lemon water, (don't drink it straight, as it can be harsh on your enamel. Dilute it before drinking with some water or better yet use a straw to drink.)
Other options:
- chia seed + honey + water (my favorite)
- citrus fruit juice (orange, etc) , all berries juice, prune juice
Drinking 2 litres of water per day

Sleep
+Have 7-8hours of quality sleep per night
(Be in your dreamland before 11pm)
+Keep the bedsheets/pillowcase  clean. I like to use my shirt as the pillowcase, as it is easier to change every 3-4 days.

Exercise
- at least 15 minutes per day.
- Make sure you sweat. Circuit training/ high intensity interval training (HIIT) can keep your workout under 30minutes and still sweat like crazy.

Stress management.
+Meditate. What I like to do is to just focus on my breathing and listen to some soft musics.
+Yoga/ self facial and scalp massage/ lymphatic drainage massage/.
+Any other stress relieving methods that works for you : the list is endless = dance, sing, zumba, taking a stroll in the park, gentle stretching after you wake up and before you sleep, etc.
+Breathing technique (4-5-6) That's the number that worked for me to relax.
[Inhale 4 seconds, hold 5 seconds & exhale 6 seconds/ even longer.]
You can come up with your number that allows you to breath comfortably. Or maybe you don't like the idea of counting your breath, then you can just breath in and out deeply to feel relaxed. A few minutes of breathing consciously can make you less stressful. =)

Others (less conventional ones)
-Visualize yourself having great skin complexion.
-Be disciplined, persistent and patient. Keep yourself motivated to stick with your daily skincare ritual.
-Be happy and don't ever let anyone bring you down. No one can make you feel inferior without your own consent - Eleanor Roosevelt. No matter how bad others treat you, you have a choice not to let them affect you. And you always have a choice to either feel bad about it, changing the perspective, shrug it aside, fix the problem or leave.

Love yourself.
-You can try doing the mirror work by Louise Hay if you struggle to love yourself.
- Write a list of 10 positive things you love about yourself.
- Give yourself a hug or a pat on the shoulder. Compliment yourself & not seek validation from others.

Honestly, my skin complexion have improved after doing those things above .

But...
Recently, my skin complexion has not been that well due to lack of sleep each night, stress and a lot of negative self-talks. Haha writing this blog post just made me realize that I need to be more disciplined to adhere to my skincare regimen and deal with all those negative emotions.
Anyway, its good to be aware of where the problems are and address them accordingly to get our gorgeous skin back!

What I suggest here are the things that worked for me. It may or may not work for you. They are just some suggestions that you can include into your skincare regimen. By the way, I am still in the process of learning too. Do enlighten me if you have any other tips towards having a bright and smooth complexion. =)

Sleeping late

Being a university student with never-ending assignments due dates and exams/class tests can make our 24 hours(or maybe 16-18 hours) a day seem short.
I am no different, I even feel that I only have very few hours of free time per day, deducting those times used to shower 3 times, eat 3 meals, going out with friends, drink, take a nap, brush teeth 2 times, urinate/defecate infinite times, study, do assignment, prepare presentation etc.

Although there is still a few hours left per day, it is so insufficient to use considering the need to exercise and entertain yourself a little to de-stress from our forever-hectic life.
Maybe it is my time management skill. I am not sure why, but time seems to fly by faster and faster, as I continue to age. The day I was born  to this world seems to be yesterday!

Time pass so quickly and I feel that time is getting lesser for some reason. It left me no choice and I had to sleep late to sort of extend the hours to do the things I like.
I slept after midnight nowadays and woke up at 7am due to early morning class and somehow it is starting to affect me. It might be a psychological issue, but I feel that my memory power and concentration have decreased. And it's a must for me to take a short nap, couldn't live for the rest of the day without one.
I have developed the habit of sleeping at around 2am recently and it's so hard to change my sleeping time to 11pm. But I am trying to write this post in order to remind myself that sleeping late isn't healthy and it is making my life miserable. And also to remind those who sleep late to sleep earlier.

Sleeping late may be a trend lately. However, lets start a new trend - sleep early before midnight!
Who knows? We might get famous for setting this trend. =D

Sleep early tonight before midnight and regain your youth! And you can thank me later on.
Goodnight. Have some good rest which you deserve !

Being sensitive ?

Life isn't easy at times and sometimes you just feel like going uphill and live in a forest for the rest of your life alone without having to deal with any issues. Of course, it is a way to avoiding and it serves no good in the long run, but the feeling of having to deal with people and life is just so much to take in for people that are sensitive.

It is easy for people to tell another person to stop being sensitive, but once they are in the exact or similar situation, I guess it would be a whole new story. Maybe some people may be over-reacting over some small matters in life. But it is unfair to judge others for being sensitive towards things we considered to be trivial.
All of us are sensitive towards different things in life.
Some are easily triggered by what others say, some can be mad because of another person's rude behaviour. Some can get angry because they are being ignored.
It's only natural to feel certain emotions when these things happened instead of suppressing those emotions.

What I hope is for people to be more understanding towards one another instead of judging, assuming what they see and hear and always wanting others to be less sensitive. Sometimes when we judge others, we are only looking at the surface of things.
Sometimes some people are afraid of getting hurt, they may be rude and loud towards other people.
But they did this to prevent themselves from getting hurt or they may get hurt due to past events of them being a victim of abuse. It is like a defensive mechanism.

It is never fair to judge others based on only one/a few inappropriate actions of a person.
Sometimes we can focus so much on one negative quality of a person and amplify it so much to the degree that we ignore all their good qualities.
Certainly, I am not condoning the behaviors of those people that may be ignorant, rude, totally insensitive, but I just hope that we can take time to get to know others and not judging a person based on assumptions or rumors.

I sincerely hope that my readers to be more compassionate towards others, maybe listen to others attentively, do some random acts of kindness(ripple effect eyy) or at least don't be too critical towards others.  =)

Little dose of happiness

Life can get stressful/boring for some including me at times. But there are things in life which really keeps me going and looking forward to waking up every morning. =D

Here are my small dose of happiness pills everyday/ or maybe some big dose of happiness pills once in a while:
- Having someone( stranger included) smile or greet at me
- Receive messages from some long-lost friends out of the blue, even though it may just be a "how r u" type of message.
- Going out and have a one on one conversation with someone, and talk randomly. Maybe can even discuss why the sky is blue and the rainbow have seven colours. ok boring. =X
- Listening to your favourite songs (For me, its definitely KPOP. How can you not get "hyper" when you have those kpop dance songs playing?)
- Writing down a few things that made you happy everyday/ (accomplishments)
- Exercising and get those endorphins circulating all over your body! haha
- Sleeping early.(able to sleep before 11pm) (X applicable for now) but I know if I sleep early, I would be bursting out of laughter maybe every 10 minutes without any reason. LOL!
- Reading my favourite blogger's blog.
- Watching my favourite youtuber's video and also the videos including the pay it forward prank/ and"what would you do"(It's a series about what would a person do in situations where people are being discriminated or teased in front of them. It is worth watching. I shed a few tears as it gets quite emotional when I see people take risk and take a stand for those people in need of help. )
-  Successfully cooked my meal and it is edible.
- Having a good hair day.
- BUFFET!!! (big dose of happiness pill!!)
- SUSHI!!! (another big dose as well)
- Food is life.. hahaaa
- Travel around with my f.a.m.i.l.y
- Strawberries dipped in chocolate fountain. <3
I mentioned before in my previous post that we can be happy without any reason, as it is a conscious choice that we can make. Yeah, the stuffs above may seem like reasons to be happy. But seriously, they are not needed in our pursuit of happiness. We can have those things in mind as a motivating factor for us to go through life, but in the end we will feel empty if we always want to have those things happen in our life. Like always, happiness should not come from external, it should come from within.(cliche, but its the truth) =)
